During this plan, he has targeted one million people on Mars within the next 20 years. But Musk believes the survival of humanity depends on becoming multi-planetary for that he is working with everything he has or can.

Musk said in the interview, “We have lots of benefits of Mars, eventually, all life on Earth will be destroyed by the sun. The sun is gradually expanding, and so at some point need to be a multi-planetary civilisation because Earth will be incinerated.”

Musk, who leads the Trump Administration’s cost and regulation-cutting Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), estimated that we have about 450 million years “before it gets so hot that life is impossible here on Earth.”

But there are many challenges for his rocket Spacex to complete the development and testing of Starship, which is the fully reusable Mega Rocket that Musk thinks will make Mars settlement economically feasible and possible.
